Significance of Eid al-Fitr
1. The Messenger of Allah ️ said:
“Every nation has its festival, and this is our festival.”

2. The Messenger of Allah ️ said:
“Allah has replaced them for you with two better days: the Day of al-Fitr and the Day of al-Adha.”

Etiquettes of Eid al-Fitr
- Give Zakat al-Fitr before the Eid prayer.
- Perform ghusl (ritual bath) before going for the prayer.
- Wear your best modest clothes.
- Eat before leaving for the Eid prayer, preferably an odd number of dates.
- Recite the Takbir on the way to the prayer.
- Attend the Eid prayer and join the Muslim community.
- Take a different route when returning from the prayer.
- Exchange greetings, such as “Taqabbalallāhu minnā wa minkum” (May Allah accept from us and from you).
