Theme of the Week: Following the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ
Qur’an
“Say: If you truly love Allah, then follow me, and Allah will love you and forgive you your sins.
And Allah is Most-Forgiving, Most-Merciful.”
– Surah Āl ‘Imrān (3:31)
This verse reminds us that love for Allah ﷻ is demonstrated through following the Sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ.
Hadith
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“All of my Ummah will enter Paradise except for those who refuse.”
The Companions asked: “O Messenger of Allah, who would refuse?”
He ﷺ replied:
“Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise, and whoever disobeys me has refused.”
– Sahih al-Bukhari (Hadith 7280)
“Whoever revives my Sunnah has truly loved me. And whoever loves me will be with me in Paradise.”
– Sunan al-Tirmidhi (Hadith 2678) – Hasan
Advice for Parents
The school will be encouraging students to live by the Sunnah both in and outside the classroom.
Parents can also help embed this love for the Prophet ﷺ at home by:
- Encouraging daily Sunnah habits such as saying Bismillah before eating, using the right hand, and reciting the Sunnah du‘as.
- Sharing stories from the Seerah, highlighting the Prophet’s ﷺ kindness, honesty, and mercy.
- Encouraging children to regularly send salawat (salutations) upon the Prophet ﷺ.
- Demonstrating Sunnah acts as parents, so children naturally adopt them by example.
- Practicing Sunnah as a family, such as eating together, greeting each other with salaam, and helping one another at home.
By working together as parents and teachers, inshaAllah our children will grow up with a strong connection to the Prophet ﷺ,
loving him deeply and striving to live by his Sunnah.
